The National Gallery is a modern building
built in the 1960s. Its collection specialises in works from
the 19th and 20th centuries as well as international contemporary
art and it is famous for its collection of French impressionists.
The Old Museum hosts eighteenth, nineteenth and early twentieth
century paintings and statues. The Pergamon Museum is divided
into five sections covering a range of exhibits including
antiquities. The Bode Museum has exhibits of Byzantine and
early Christian relics.
